Blood Donation Day

There are four major blood groups determined by the presence or absence of two antigens, A and B, on the surface of red blood cells. In addition to the A and B antigens, there is a protein called the Rh factor, which can be either present (+) or absent (–), creating the 8 most common blood types O+, O-, A+, A-, B+, B-, AB+, AB-.

BLOOD GROUP PERCENTAGE IN ASIA:-

O+ 39% | O- 1% | A+ 27% | A- 0.5% | B+ 25% | B- 0.4% | AB+ 7% | AB- 0.1%

BLOOD DONER & RECEIVERS:-

Doner O Receivers O A B & AB.

Doner A Receivers A & AB.

Doner B Receivers B & AB.

Doner AB Receiver AB only.

BOOLD GROUP PLASMA & RED CELLS

Blood Group O has neither A nor B antigens on red cells (but both A and antibody are in the plasma).

Blood Group A has only the A antigen in red cells (and the B antibody in the plasma).

Blood Group B has only the B antigen on red cells (and A antibody in the plasma).

Blood Group AB has both A and B antigens on red cells (but neither A nor B antibodies in the plasma)
